Beijing's Capital Airlines is warning passengers not to visit south Chicago unaccompanied, directly attributing violence in the area to its black population.
The in-flight tourism advice, found by That’s Beijing on a domestic flight, suggests that public security is “tense and worse” in the city’s south, “mainly because the blacks are densely living [there].”
The discovery comes just two days after Air China withdrew a controversial passenger magazine that recommended “precautions” in the parts of London “mainly populated by Indians, Pakistanis and black people.”
Capital Airlines’ in-flight entertainment system offers similar advice for the Illinois city, with its destination guide telling tourists: “do not travel to south part of Chicago alone [sic].”
The comments appear beneath a section marked “security situation,” which also lists recent shooting incidents alongside crime statistics.
