A formula one fan at the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai was arrested today after he ran onto the race track at the Shanghai International Circuit.

The man made it to the other side shortly before one of the cars, which are capable of traveling at speeds up to 360 kilometers an hour, zoomed past. He then ran into the pits, entering Ferrari's garage.

Before being apprehended by security and handed over to the police, the man is reported to have said that he wanted to try one of the vehicles.

F1 officials have said that they will investigate how exactly the strict security measures imposed at the event were breached.
