That's Beijing takes a look at the best of the week:
June 2: Umame Martini Dinner at Feast
Join Feast on Thursday for a night of Japanese-inspired food and martinis. For this special dinner, Feast will be serving a four-course set menu paired perfectly with gin-martinis. To top it off, award-winning guest bartender Andrea Benvegna from The Connaught Bar in London will be doing the pouring (and pairing). Seating is limited, so call Feast at +10 8414 9820 to make reservations.
Thurs June 2, 7-10pm; RMB258. Feast, see event listing for details.
June 4: The Ming and the Manchus: A Walk and Discussion at the Forbidden City
If you’re itching to learn a little bit more about this city’s history, head out on an educational walk dedicated to the Chinese imperial history of the Forbidden City. Newly-opened areas will also be discussed. This offbeat tour combines Forbidden City factoids with stories, pop-culture references and concrete examples. Due to limited space you’ll need to book in advance by clicking here.
Sat June 4, 9am-noon; RMB300, RMB260 for members (includes all entrance tickets). The Forbidden City, see event listing for details.
June 5: BSB Shunyi Summer Fayre 2016
Celebrate summertime with some family fun at The British School of Beijing Shunyi Summer Fayre! There will be a whole host of food vendors in addition to bouncy castles, ice cream stalls, face painting, games and even prizes.
Sun June 5, 12-4pm; free. The British School of Beijing, Shunyi Campus, see event listing for details.
June 5: Dive In Part II
Dive in (again) to Beijing’s ultimate pool party. Modo, Moka Bros, Mosto, Migas Restaurant and The Bar at Migas are combining forces to make this year’s event better than ever. We don’t know where the party will be held because partygoers are set to be whisked away to a secret locale. Expect lots of food, drinks and music. Tickets are currently on sale at the Sanlitun Moka Bros.
Sun June 5, 10.15am-7pm; RMB 680 (all-inclusive). See event listing for details.
June 5: CHEERS Scavenger Hunt
Join CHEERS for a one-of-a-kind scavenger hunt in Gulou on Sunday. Hop around town to check out a smattering of Gulou's hippest bars, cafes and restaurants, and get free gifts along the way. Sponsors include Beiluo Bread Bar, Gung Ho! Pizza, The Meatball Company, Modernista, Samans and Tuk Tuk. So get ready for some good times and lots of eating and drinking.
Sun June 5, 1.30pm. CHEERS (Gulou), see event listing for details.
