Spring is just about here once again – almost the perfect time to get out and see some spring flowers in Beijing… assuming we don’t get another sudden bout of unseasonable snow.

Last year, we suggested six spots for seeing spring flowers. If you missed that article, click the link below.

This time, we bring you a few more spots to enjoy some spring flowers

Qing Feng Park

One of the capital’s smaller parks tucked away just south of the CBD area. Qing Feng park lies on the south bank of the Tonghui river which leads out towards Tongzhou district.

As well as nice looking spring flowers, you’ll also get a good view of the CITIC Tower, or China Zun. An engraved sign in the park notes that the Qing dynasty literary figure Cao Xueqin used to make stops in Qing Feng while traveling between Xiangshan in west Beijing and Tongzhou in east Beijing.

How to get there: The park is approximately 20 minutes’ walk from Guomao subway station or reachable by ride-hailing service (enter location 庆丰公园)

Yuyuantan Park

Located in western Haidian district, Yuyuantan is one of the bigger parks within Beijing. The park has something for all the family with boat rides, children’s play-equipment and more.

To the west of the park is the Beijing Central Radio and TV Tower. Photo suggestion – snap some spring flowers in the foreground and the tower in the background.

How to get there: The park is nearby Yuyuantan Dong Men Subway Station (east gate of the park) and Military Museum Subway Station (south gate of the park). It is also reachable by ride-hailing service (enter location 玉渊潭公园)

Zizhuyuan Park

Known in English as ‘Black Bamboo’ park, Zizhuyuan also lies in Haidian district. As suggested by the name, the park is full of pathways through mini bamboo forests in addition to the array of spring flowers.

It’s another one of Beijing’s larger parks with boat rides and even a few places to grab tea or a bite to eat.

How to get there: The park is nearby the National Library station on Line 16 and Line 4, and also nearby Wanshousi station on Line 16. It is also reachable by ride-hailing service (enter location 紫竹院公园)

Wudaoying

This is perhaps more on the radar of café-goers and foodies than those who want to look at spring flowers. Nonetheless, the area just north of Wudaoying Hutong beside the Second Ring Road is a small but aesthetically-pleasing little spot.

A picture of the flowers with Yonghegong (Lama Temple) in the background makes for a nice snap. And when you’re done, you can take a stroll and grab a coffee or a snack.

How to get there: Head to Yonghegong (Lama Temple) subway station on Line 5 or Line 2 and head out of Exit E. It is also reachable by ride-hailing service (enter location 雍和宫地铁站E出口)
