Beijing’s biggest shopping outlets and a 5-star hotel are set to be built next to Universal Beijing Resort in the capital’s Tongzhou District.
According to Beijing Daily, the project has been in the pipeline since October 2021 and recently received approval from the relevant authorities in Tongzhou, with the opening date set for May 2025.

Located at the Zhangjiawan Depot on the east side of the Universal Studios theme park, the project will be connected to Huazhuang Subway Station on Line 7 and the south section of Line 1 (Batong Line). In future, there are also plans to connect the area with an inter-city rail line.
Inside the mega-project, you’ll find 170,000-square meter shopping outlets, as well as a 35,000-square-meter 5-star hotel. As well as luxury shops, the outlets will also include dining, bars, leisure facilities, a live house and more.
