The Peninsula Beijing is proud to announce that Jing has retained its One Michelin Star for the fourth consecutive year, and Huang Ting has retained its Michelin Selected Restaurant status. These prestigious accolades were announced at the launch of the Michelin Guide Beijing 2024 in the Chinese capital on 12 October 2023. This is the fifth year that the world-famous restaurant guide has been published in Beijing. Once again, the two restaurants of The Peninsula Beijing received the honour of joining the Michelin list, which is a global standard of quality, taste and service for the restaurant industry. These achievements reaffirm the position of The Peninsula Beijing as a world-class dining destination in the Chinese capital.

The Jing team, led by Chef de Cuisine William Mahi, continues to push culinary boundaries and take diners on a journey of exploration into the realms of modern French gastronomy. The chefs and restaurant service team at Jing are committed to providing guests with truly unique French dining experiences.

As a Michelin-starred contemporary French restaurant in Beijing, Jing is one of the capital’s hottest dining destinations, serving modern French gastronomy with artistic presentations by popular Chef de Cuisine William Mahi, paired with fine global wines and rare vintage Krug Champagnes in a stylish venue evoking a secret garden. It is an ideal place to celebrate memorable moments in life.

“My creations are born of my French roots, coming from the Basque region, which is in the southwest of France and is one of the oldest communities in Europe. The authentic flavours I prepare are a culmination of cooking around the world over the past 27 years,” said Chef William.

Securing Michelin Selected Restaurant for a second successive year is an impressive achievement by Huang Ting, which is helmed by Chinese Executive Chef Hide Zhang. Recreating the elegant courtyard style of Beijing’s traditional noble houses, Huang Ting is famous for its authentic Cantonese delicacies and exquisite dim sum.

The décor features grey brick walls, slate floors, aged pine, ivory and blue silk highlights and an impressive collection of antiques, most dating from the Qing dynasty (1644 – 1911), to celebrate the traditional elegance of this type of dwelling. The restaurant seats 140 persons and is divided into two areas – a tea house at the entrance and the restaurant itself – and features four private dining rooms. Two smaller private dining rooms feature a four-panel jade screen dating from the 1920s depicting birds with bamboo, chrysanthemums, and plum blossoms, while three small alcove areas offer ivory silk curtains for privacy.
