Get ready to hold onto your teacups, because Guangdong is experiencing an unusual series of tremors!
In just one week, three earthquakes have sent ripples through the region, leaving both residents and experts wondering what's going on beneath the surface.

The most recent of these geological jolts occurred at 3.20am on October 23, with the epicenter located in the South China Sea, near Nanao County in Shantou City, Guangdong Province.
This quake registered at a magnitude of 5.0 and had a depth of 10 kilometers, situated about 27 kilometers from the coast.

While that might seem a fair distance from the shoreline, residents along the coast in places like Xiamen and Zhangzhou in Fujian, as well as Shantou in Guangdong, reported feeling the tremors quite strongly.
In fact, some folks were jolted awake by the surprise shakedown.

Videos circulating online show the aftermath, including damage to an underground parking lot and residents in homes with a discernible sense of unease.
