Chinese television dramas based on the the country's war of resistance against Japanese aggression, fought from 1937 to 1945, have earned a reputation for the implausible.
In the past, we've witnessed Japanese troops getting ripped apart by Chinese with their bare hands, naked girls saluting the Red Army, kung fu masters taking down whole battalions by tearing their hearts out, guys tossing grenades in the air and taking down Japanese bombers, and so much more.
Moreover, hundreds of films based on the war are produced every year, occupying an estimated 30 percent of primetime TV hours and providing an endless stream of ridiculousness.

Recently, netizens have found a new source of mirth in this programming - lines that not only defy history, but even basic human logic:
"My grandfather was cruelly killed by the Japanese when he was just nine years old."
Comrades, the eight-year war of resistance has begun!
In which Chinese sniper can take down Japanese troops from 200 kilometers away.
Everyone carries 150 kilograms of dynamite.
In December last year, the anniversary of the 1937 Nanking Massacre was marked as a national day of observance for the first time; and in May this year China will hold its first-ever "Anti-Fascist" military parade to mark 70 years since Japan's defeat in the Second World War.
As reminders of the 1937-1945 invasion increase, however, it somewhat diminishes China's moral high ground when, as victims of imperial Japan's war crimes, they play just as fast and loose with history as the deniers of Japanese atrocities themselves.
