Enjoy a New Zealand-Inspired Dinner at Ebony

Do you hail from Auckland or Rivendell? Remember a time when orange roughy was all the rage? Keep kiwis as pets? Then head over to Ebony at the Mandarin Oriental, Guangzhou this month (before April 17!) to experience a taste of home.

No matter where you're from, this exquisite meal co-organized by the New Zealand Consulate General Guangzhou will tempt your taste buds with a starter of New Zealand mussels and saffron custard or silky corn chowder.

Ice-cold Moa IPA, a range of Ara wines and Antipodes sparking water (all imported from the “land of the long white cloud”) will ease the lull between courses.

For mains, enjoy the seared orange roughy on light pumpkin risotto, roasted leg of lamb with apricot and thyme stuffing or a half rack of lamb topped with jalapeno mash and kiwi-mint relish. Taste the difference of ingredients gathered from the fertile fields of New Zealand and savor flavors that are, of course, “100% pure.”

Conclude the feast with a delicate meringue filled with fresh berries and light pastry cream.

Ebony’s Executive Chef Mikael Robin and his team have outdone themselves with this unforgettable menu that features the best – and tastiest – of New Zealand’s shores. Reserve a table early this month and treat yourself to a night of fine dining!

The full three-course meal is RMB488 per person (plus 15 percent) and includes a bottle of New Zealand Moa beer.
