Summer is here and it’s time to get the barbeque – er – Sichuan food out! If you are a fan of Sichuan cuisine then the next 10 days are for you, because Summer Palace at Shangri-La Hotel, Guangzhou will host a Sichuan Food Festival from June 16-26.
Two visiting chefs from Chengdu, Chef Yang Min and Chef Li Feng, will dish out a variety of traditional and modern Sichuan meals as well as gourmet spicy Cantonese food.
Like Cantonese cuisine, Sichuan cuisine is known to every household in China and beyond. The two cuisines are both recognised as among the top eight Chinese cuisines and among the top four Chinese flavours (the other two are Huai Yang and Lu).
