Cathay is set to enhance its connectivity with the Chinese Mainland this summer by increasing flight frequencies across its network.
With nearly 300 return flights per week to 20 cities, the airline is responding to growing travel demand and reinforcing Hong Kong’s role as a premier international aviation hub.
Lavinia Lau, Cathay’s Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion:
"We are delighted to further strengthen our network, ensuring greater accessibility and convenience for our customers. "
"This expansion not only facilitates travel between Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland but also enhances connectivity to the rest of the world."
As part of the expansion, Cathay will boost services to major metropolitan regions, including the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area and the Yangtze River Delta.
Beijing routes will see significant enhancements, with seven daily flights to Beijing Capital International Airport and an additional daily service to Beijing Daxing International Airport through its subsidiary, HK Express.
Meanwhile, Shanghai will be served by eight daily flights to Pudong International Airport and 11 weekly flights to Hongqiao International Airport.
Additional key adjustments include:
More flights to strategic destinations:
Daily flights to Zhengzhou, Ningbo, Haikou, and Chongqing.
Increased services to Hangzhou, Nanjing, Wenzhou, and Wuhan.
Enhanced connectivity to Qingdao and Xi’an.
Resumption of flights to Fuzhou and increased services to Xiamen.
New route to Urumqi: From April 28, Cathay will launch direct flights between Hong Kong and Urumqi, further extending its reach across China.
Beyond the Chinese Mainland, Cathay is also expanding its international network.
The airline recently introduced flights to Hyderabad, India, and plans to launch new routes to Dallas, Rome, Munich, and Brussels.
With services to over 100 destinations worldwide in 2025, Cathay continues to strengthen its position as a leading carrier connecting travelers across Asia and beyond.
