Those residing all the way on the backside end of Pudong will feel a little closer to the rest of civilization as a new major railway station is currently in the works.

Shanghai Railway Bureau recently revealed the location of the upcoming Shanghai East Railway Station—north of the free trade zone at Pudong New Area, not far from Pudong International Airport.

With its proposed 10 platforms, 22 tracks and 120 pairs of trains operating daily, it is set to become the fourth major railway station in Shanghai. A new metro line will link it to Baoshan district, as reported by Shanghai Daily.

As if Disneyland needs more attention, the two Shanghai airports will be connected directly to the entertainment resort via this future 60,000-square-meter transport hub.

Construction of the Shanghai East Railway Station is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of the year and is expected to be completed by 2022.
