Nov 20: Erik Lorincz Guest Shift at Speak Low

Slovakian-born, 2011 Bartender of the Year, Erik Lorincz has earned numerous accolades in his career notably leading London's The American Bar at The Savoy to titles including World's Best Hotel Bar and the number one ranking on the 2017 World's 50 Best Bar list. He's created cocktails for Queen Elizabeth II and Cartier, so let him mix one up for you at Speak Low.

Nov 20: Ago Perrone (Connaught Bar) at The ZUK Bar

Joining The Zuk Bar for one evening is Connaught Bar's Master of Mixology, Ago Perrone. The legendary bar has remained on the World's 50 Best Bars list since 2009, to give you an idea. The location is fortuitous as The Sukhothai Shanghai's own resident head mixologist Vincenzo Pagliara cut his teeth under the mentorship of Perrone at London's Cannought. He will create legendary drinks presented with that timeless Cannought flair.

Nov 20: Macarena Rotger Guest Shift at UTC

If you recognize Bar Manager Macarena Rotger, its because she used to live in Shanghai and worked 1515 West Chophouse & Bar. She'll be at UTC mixing up tea-infused beverages from newly-opened The Other Roof in Singapore where she currently manages the bar.

Nov 20: Nolo Pop-Up with Hope & Sesame

In the wake of the DRiNK Magazine Bar Awards, Guangzhou speakeasy Hope & Sesame and The Cannery stepping in with some No & Low ABV drinks, showcasing Seedlip's distilled non-alcoholic drinks. The focus is full-flavored and creative beverages without alcohol content. Sample a 'Nomos Fizz,' 'Nogroni' or one of Michael Chen's signature low ABV 'Teapache Tribe' drinks and give your liver a much-needed break.

Nov 20: Healthy Dumpling Workshop

Do you love dumplings but have no idea how to make them at home? Then sign up for this cooking workshop and learn to make three kinds of dumplings from scratch. All original recipes come from healthy Chinese Chef Shiyin Wang who will guide you through mixing up fillings and folding wrappers until you reach dumpling perfection. The finished products will be boiled, steamed and fried allowing you to taste the difference in methods. Ingredients are all fresh and local from FIELDS, and wine pairings will be provided. Nov 20-24: Jad Ballout at 1515 West

As part of 1515 West’s Celebrity Bartender Series, 1515 West will be hosting world-renowned bartender Jad Ballout. Jad is famous for his use of rare, seasonal herbs and spices in his magnificent cocktails. Having grown up near the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea, Jad has been exposed to the many flavors of the region. His cocktails have earned him recognition not only in the Eastern Mediterranean, where he has received numerous awards such as Best Bar in the Middle East & Africa 2016, but he has also gained international recognition. Having worked in the industry for almost 10 years, Jad currently operates over five reputable outlets worldwide.

Nov 21: Seedlip x The Cannery

Nolo by Seedlip is at The Cannery for the second night, and this time you get to meet their brand ambassador Sebastian. Feel free to ask him all your questions about the No and Low ABV movement and give Seedlip non-alcoholic spirts a taste. The focus is full-flavored and creative beverages without alcohol content. Nov 21: Wine & The City Xinjiang Wine Edition

Wine & The City, Puchang Winery and Hakkasan Shanghai are teaming up for a fantastic wine pairing dinner where they will introduce guests to wines from China's Turpan Valley region. In addition to tasting some fabulous food and wine, you'll learn all about the wines and the challenges it takes to grow some of China’s best vines.
Just to give you an idea of what's on the menu, dishes will include crispy duck salad with grapefruit, Wagyu beef dumplings, pork with pomelo and pomegranate and more.

Nov 21: Native Pop-up Bar at The ZUK Bar

Having climbed 34 spots this year to become the world’s 13th best bar, the Singapore-based cocktail bar, Native is high on our list of pop-ups in Shanghai. Mixologist Vijay Mudaliar will be making an appearance at the ZUK Bar in the Sukhothai Shanghai on Wednesday, November 21. Native prides itself on its use of solely regional ingredients and sustainable practices including being wholly solar powered.

Nov 21: El Rey del Barrio

FUNKA del Sur is hosting the third edition of el Rey del Barrio aka "King of the Hood" on Wednesday, November 21. This time, guest chef Edgar Herdez from Taco Laoban will join chef Hugo Rodriguez to craft a special menu of Mexican street food and drink specials. Dishes include pork belly tacos, corn salad, duck mole, ceviche verde, and arroz con leche. Four flavors of margaritas served, including mango, passion fruit, blueberry, and classic lime.

Nov 21-22: Coupette Pop-up Bar at the Portman Ritz Carlton

Located in London, Chris Moore’s Coupette is founded on the concept of cocktails and calvados, and experimental menu items are crafted according to the season. Having received the award for Best New Opening 2018 by The World’s 50 Best Bars, guests can expect a fun menu with exceptional service while relaxing in the Ritz-Carlton’s Bar and Lounge.

Nov 21-24: The Dead Rabbit Pop-up at The Shanghai EDITION

Originally established as an Irish pub in New York City that focused on providing excellent hospitality and cocktails, The Dead Rabbit has evolved into much, much more. Now ranked as the world’s 16th best bar, The Dead Rabbit has held the position of world’s best several times. From its roots as an Irish bar, the establishment has become famous for Irish coffee, whiskey brand, recipes and more. Experience all The Dead Rabbit has to offer at The Shanghai EDITION.
A masterclass will be held on November 21 from 2.30pm – 4.30pm in the Shanghai EDITION’s Punch Room.
The main event will be held between November 21 – 24 from 7pm – 12am in the Shanghai EDITION’s Club Room.

What do you drink when you're not drinking? Shanghai's house of funk and soul proudly teams up with the world's first non-alcoholic spirit, Seedlip, to answer that question. On offer at their "No & Low" pop-up are five bold new cocktails ranging from Zero ABV to just slightly above Zero ABV. The live funk and soul is full strength as usual. Nov 23: GINRAW Masterclass at The ZUK Bar

Nov 23: Whisky & Haggis Tasting

Now, this is an event we haven't seen before. As the saying goes, "too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough.” We can only imagine what happens when you add haggis into the mix. The illustrious House of Roosevelt wants you to join them for a wonderful evening of whisky and haggis tasting against the backdrop of Shanghai's beautiful skyline.

Nov 23: Delights & Sorows Stone Brewing x Jing-A Beer Release

Earlier this year, Jing-A traveled to California to share beers and brew with Stone Brewing, becoming the first Chinese craft brewery to collaborate with the American craft brewers. Out of that happy partnership, Stone’s first China collab beer was born: Delights & Sorrows, or Tong Gan Gong Ku (7% ABV), a West-Coast IPA with Chrysanthemum Tea. Stone Brewing will host Jing-A for the beer release on Friday, November 23 at the Tap Room at 5pm.
