Two Hands Burger is back, courtesy of burger enthusiasts and food creatives Taste Collective with collaborating Shanghai-native Chef Chris Zhu. Their classic smash burger stole the hearts of burger nerds and noobs alike at their wildly successful first pop up back in July 2019, and we have a strong feeling it will do the same again this year within that very first delightfully greasy bite.

Between the layers of juicy Australian wagyu beef patties and gooey cheese, you could actually taste the American fast-food hamburger nostalgia, all nestled between a thick slathering of tangy secret sauce and a perfectly pillowy potato bun.

The word around town is that Taste Collective has even bigger burger plans in the works for this Two Hands Burger 2.0 pop up, as they are currently experimenting with all things meat and bun. Australian wagyu is still on the table, and for non-meat eaters, a marinated crispy tofu and mushroom patty option will be available that is rumored to convert even the most devout of carnivores.

Like a beach is best enjoyed with a cocktail in hand, a burger knows no better match than a frothy craft beer; so it’s only fitting that the Two Hands pop up will be held at Shanghai’s trendiest new craft beer hangout, the Mikkeller Tasting Room.

Two Hands is the brain and food child of Taste Collective and acclaimed Chef and ‘Doctor’ Chris Zhu, formerly of Bird + Bitter. Together, the team embodies their vision for ‘burger diplomacy’ – a mix of American nostalgia and Shanghai inspiration that culminate in one crazy good burger made by burger lovers, for burger lovers.
You’re going to need two hands for this one.
