Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong Student Achieves Full Marks of 45 in the IB
Congratulations to Olivia, who achieved 45 points in her IB – a perfect score. After 8 years at Dulwich Pudong, and completing an internship in sustainability in Shanghai, she will be heading to the US to attend Ivy League university, Brown, in January majoring in English and Environmental Studies.
Wellington College International Shanghai Celebrates Kindness Week
Wellington College International Shanghai recently celebrated Kindness Week. This annual observance is an opportunity for teachers and pupils to give special attention to this core Wellington Value and find ways to practice it with mindfulness and intentionality. Wellington's Pre-Prep pupils constructed ‘kindness chains’ from paper. Likewise, Upper Prep pupils came together to create ‘kindness rocks’ – stones painted with bright colors and inspiring messages that can be given as gifts to friends and family.
Canadian Thanksgiving – a Worldwise Celebration for Dulwich
At Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi, celebrating the traditions and cultures of their diverse community is an important element of College life. In October, they celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving with a traditional lunch attended by those students of Canadian origin. They were thankful to be joined for this special occasion by Mr. Whately, Executive Director of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, and Mr. Giordano, Director of International Outreach and Alumni Engagement from Dulwich College International.
SSIS Celebrates Mid-Autumn
The inclusion of inter-cultural learning experiences is an essential feature of the SSIS school curriculum. Their Chinese Language and Chinese Culture Department created various activities so that their students could experience the essence of this traditional Chinese festival and its long-lasting culture in fun and engaging ways. Preschoolers made lanterns and learned the origins. Primary students read ancient poems and painted mooncakes. Senior School students solved bilingual lantern riddles and created posters of the holiday's customs and myths.
BISS Circus Carnival & Pool Party
BISS Puxi marked the start of a new academic year by bringing together the BISS Puxi Community in a series of festivals packed with carnival fun. The highlights of the activities included jugglers, clowns, magic, Sichuan Opera, beach volleyball, DJs, pool parties and so much more.
With Global Campus, NAIS Pudong Students Truly are International Citizens
Travel may be out as an option but around 150 NAIS Pudong students competed with students from 68 schools around the globe in a 2km race. Through the power of NAIS' Global Campus, students have the opportunity to work, collaborate and compete with likeminded students across the globe.
YCIS Shanghai Celebrates 2020 Founder’s Day
In October, Yew Chung International Schools (YCIS) and Yew Wah International Education Schools (YWIES) commemorated and honored their founder and the progressive and international education that the organization has been providing for over 88 years. Students across YCIS Shanghai's campuses participated in sports and art-related activities and connected via live stream and video messages with their peers from across the schools' global network. WISS Embraces Outdoor Learning
Outdoor learning is part of WISS’s balanced and nurturing approach to education. Through outdoor activities, kids explore and learn with practical and hands-on activities. WISS Early Years has updated its outdoor spaces to broaden students’ knowledge by providing new opportunities to explore and interact with the environment. The spacious WISS playground area now includes the ‘Cub Cove,’ a renovated pergola and planters to dig into gardening activities. These new spaces ensure that students learn through play every day at WISS.
