June 1-3: Bamboo and Plum Blossom in Paintings Collection


Suzhou Museum is showcasing its collection of more than 40 pieces of bamboo and plum blossom paintings through the beginning of June. Both classic symbols of a traditional Chinese gentlemen, these two plants have been popular subjects for artists and poets since the Tang dynasty.

June 1-24: Freedom World

Freedom World
Square Art International presents Freedom World, a graffiti army from Europe. Featured artists of the Shi Jianfang-curated exhibition include Konair Onergizer, El Xupet Negre, Btoy Andrea, Timothee Pomier, Mathias Milhaud, Elsie Pomier and Luc Schumutz. The exhibition will be open until June 24

June 2: Camelympic Games

Camelympic Games
The Camelympic Games are wrapping up on Saturday June 2! For those who don’t know, the Camelympics is a competition of pub games across five disciplines: Shuffleboard, Darts, Foosball, Pool and Golden Tee Golf. Teams of no more than eight people competed in games on Saturday nights throughout the month May. The final teams will play in a grand final on June 2, with the victorious team winning a steak dinner each and a keg of Carlsberg to share.

June 2: Suzhou Showdown

Suzhou Showdown
The Suzhou Showdown gala, presented by Blacktie Boxing, is returning to Suzhou yet again. This is the first time the event will be held during the summer. Please note that the venue has changed — the event will now take place at the south square of Nison City Mall along the promenade, right in front of Explore Bar (formerly known as Muddy Waters). June 2: The Rugby Ball

It's time for the highly-anticipated Rugby Ball, a night of fun and drinking with the Suzhou Late Knights. You can still get your tickets for the dinner at the W Hotel and after party at Flu (sold separately). This is gonna be one helluva time.

June 2: Silk Mandarin Suzhou Housewarming Party

Celebrate the opening of Silk Mandarin's new Suzhou branch on Saturday. The "housewarming party" includes activities from Chinese paint brushing to cycling around Jinji Lake.

June 2: The Little Singers of Paris


One of the world's top boys' choirs, The Little Singers of Paris have already performed in more than 80 countries, and are known as the French ambassadors of peace. For their Suzhou show, the young singers will be bringing a range of classical, traditional and folk songs from various countries, including China, to the audience.

June 5: Dance Drama Opera Warrior

The Huajin Dance Drama Ensemble will be performing this exciting opera right here in Suzhou. The opera has been performed over 200 times on stages around the world.

June 6: China Blind Taste Off

Which is better: wine from Chinese mainland or foreign wine? At this blind taste off, you'll have the chance to decide for yourself by sampling four different Chinese wines and four different foreign wines. Wines will also be paired with delicious dishes.

June 6: DUSA June Social Gathering

June 8: Girl Gone International (GGI) Suzhou Launch

The female network Girl Gone International (GGI) is launching in Suzhou on June 8. And registration is now open for the special girls night out a Hemingway. In addition to good times, there will be a 20 percent discount on drinks and food. June 8: Chaiti - Indian Music and Dance

If you're looking for something a bit different to do, check out this night of Indian music and dance. Vyjyanthi Kashi and Prateeksha Kashi will perform. And special guest Lulu Wang will also join in on the performance. Wang is a Chinese Scholar and expert in the Indian dance of Kuchipudi.

Dub Attack

June 9: World Cup Warm Up Party

World Cup Warm Up Party
Pulp Fiction will be throwing a huge theme party on June 9 to get you in the mood for the 2018 FIFA World Cup! Show up in fancy dress representing one of the competing nations between 7-11pm to enjoy free flow Carlsbergs. Prizes will be awarded to partygoers with the best costume.

World Cup at Jenny's Bar

The FIFA World Cup is back! Jenny's Bar will celebrate with its very own Jenny's Cup, kicking off on June 14. Every game will be broadcast live up until the final match on July 15. During the live showings, each table can also bet on their favorite team, with the winning table receiving free selected drinks. To join in on the challenge, simply order any food r drinks and you'll automatically be given the chance to compete.

June 15: InterNations June Event

Deniz Tek

All Month Long: Square Art Presents Mathias Milhaud

Mathias Milhaud
The works of artist Mathias Milhaud will be exhibited at 56 Creative Space until June 30 as part of Square Art International's artist residence project. Born in 1981 in Paris, Milhaud lives and works in Paris. His pieces feature sawed objects painted into forms that look like extensions of the recurrent naive or simple paintings, bridging the gap between the canvas and real life.
